The Solution to Sizing Issues with Branded Company Clothing

can i use a previous embroidery file

Can I use an embroidery file from another workwear supplier?

The short answer is Yes. If you have had an embroidery file created by a previous workwear supplier and you have paid for the setup you should be able to use the same file for orders with a different supplier.

Softshell Vs Fleece

Is a Soft Shell Jacket or a fleece better value for money?

A soft shell jacket offers better value for money than a fleece in the long run. While fleeces are cheaper, they tend to bobble and look worn quickly. Soft shells are more durable, weather-resistant, and keep their smart appearance wash after wash, making them ideal for lasting brand impact.

What are these hoop marks?

What are these hoop marks?

Hoop marks, or ‘hoop burn’, are faint imprints left when a garment is held in place on an embroidery machine. They usually wash out easily. At SP Workwear, we steam all garments before packing to remove any hoop marks, so your branded clothing arrives ready to wear.

Print logo on a beanie?

Can I print my company logo onto a Beanie hat?

Printing onto beanie hats usually isn’t recommended because the knitted fabric has a loose weave, which doesn’t hold print well. Embroidery is the better option for a smart, lasting finish. Some beanies do have a printable front panel, but we’d still recommend embroidery for the best result.

Add your logo to clothing

How can I put my company logo on clothing?

To brand clothing with your logo, we usually need a clear, high-quality file. For printing, a vector file like a PDF or EPS is best. For embroidery, a good-quality PNG or JPEG may be enough. If you don’t have artwork, we can help recreate it to ensure a clean, professional result.

DTG Printing on sports clothing

Why can’t I print Direct to Garment (DTG) on sports clothing?

DTG printing doesn’t work well on sportswear because it’s usually made from polyester, which doesn’t absorb the ink properly. The colours can bleed or migrate, especially on darker or sublimated fabrics. For sports clothing, we recommend vinyl or screen printing, or embroidery for smaller logos.

Best Quality Polo Shirts

What are the best quality polo shirts for printing or embroidering?

The best polo shirt depends on how it will be used. For sports or fitness, go for lightweight polyester with sweat-wicking properties. For corporate wear, a heavier polyester gives a smart finish. For tradespeople, durable polycotton blends are ideal as they hold their shape and withstand frequent washing.

Print or Embroidery on the back?

Is print or embroidery better on the back of a t-shirt/polo?

For large logos or text on the back of a t-shirt or polo, print is often more comfortable, especially if the garment touches the skin. Embroidery can feel scratchy in bigger areas. For smaller logos, embroidery works well. On jackets or hoodies, embroidery is a good choice as it doesn’t sit directly against the skin.

What are the different printing methods?

What are the different types of printing methods for customised t-shirts?

The main printing methods for customised t-shirts are Direct to Film (DTF), screen printing, and vinyl printing. DTF is ideal for short runs and detailed full-colour designs on cotton garments. Screen printing suits large orders and offers vibrant colours. Vinyl printing works well for small quantities and sportswear.

Why are we called SP Workwear?

SP Workwear stands for “Something Personal Workwear”. The business began as Something Personal Ltd, selling personalised gifts. As demand for branded clothing and embroidery grew, the workwear side was launched as its own identity in 2015. The name reflects our personalised roots and ongoing commitment to quality and service.

What’s the difference between 4 Colour Print vs Full Colour Print?

Full colour printing uses a mix of inks like CMYK to produce gradients, shadows, and photo-quality images. It’s ideal for logos with lots of colours or fading. Four colour printing (or spot colour) uses up to four solid colours without blending. It’s better for simple logos with clean lines and blocks of colour.

What is a vector logo or vector image?

A vector logo is a graphic made from instructions rather than pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. It’s ideal for printing and branding because colours and shapes can be separated and scaled without distortion. Common formats include EPS and PDF. We can help convert your logo if needed.

Clothing decorating methods – what’s the difference?

Clothing decoration methods include embroidery, vinyl transfer, and screen printing. Embroidery is durable and smart but less suited to large logos. Vinyl gives a vibrant finish and is great for small runs and personalisation. Screen printing works well for large orders with detailed designs. Each method suits different garments and budgets.
